ZEN IN THE ART OF SLAYING VAMPIRES Coming To Film
See what happens? You make a movie like Resident Evil: Extinction a success and suddenly the director is the next big thing! That’s right, Russell Mulcahy, who before Extinction had been quite happily making TV programs, Highland II: The Quickening or Razorback is now attached to the movie version of Steven-Elliot Altman’s novel, Zen In The Art Of Slaying Vampires, which is about a pair of young lovers who get attacked by vampires. The girl dies but the guy manages to overcome his bloodsucking inclinations with the help of Zen meditation. So that’ll be blood, gore and philosophical musings! Sounds great. Oh, and it’s the first part in a possible trilogy. See what you did by going to see Resident Evil: Extinction? Do you? Hmmmm?
One thing I have just noticed – Mulcahy is directing a prequel/sequel/something-quel to The Scorpion King called The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian?!?!?!?! WTF???? There’s no one starring in it according to the IMDB but somebody please tell me that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is not involved in this idiocy?
