Stephen Moffat – of recent Doctor Who and Jekyll fame (both unwatched by me) – has been tasked the job of writing the upcoming trilogy of motion captured Tintin films for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson who will be producing all three films and directing one each of the chapters.
I pity the dude who has got to come in and fill the empty chair on the remaining movie though. Fuckin’ ‘Ell, talk about big boots to fill. Many think the job will fall to George Lucas or Robert Zemeckis but my money is on someone like Sam Raimi or Gore Verbanski. They’re going to want to give the job to someone who can match both their current box office clout and, like it or not, Raimi and/or Verbanski are the guys who’ve brought in the current franchise heavyweights with Spider-Man and Pirates of the Caribbean.
But that’s just my two pennies worth!

One Response to “Writer Tasked With TINTIN Trilogy!”
This could be pretty good actually. Jekyll was a little bit overblown but the Moffat written episodes of Doctor Who tend to be among the best.
I just don’t like motion captured movies, to be perfectly honest. For example Polar Express was a good movie but I found the characters cold, souless eyes quite disturbing and what I have seen of Beowulf has left me cold – so the news that these are going to be “motion captured” doesn’t really do anything for me.
As for director on the third part, maybe they’ll try and promote a new, upcoming talent. Can’t actually think of an example off the top of my head, but you never know.
