If you are one of the lucky ones who have already seen The Dark Knight then you will have already seen the trailer for Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, or if you are going to be watching the movie when it goes on release later on in the USA you will get to see the trailer for what could hopefully be an amazing (and very long awaited) movie. But if you are not lucky enough to be seeing The Dark Knight just yet, you won’t have to wait that long to see the Watchmen trailer!
EmpireOnline will be debuting the trailer online on 18/07/2008 at 5am GMT (or 07/17/2007 at 9pm PST depending on where you live)!

I know absolutely nothing about this property
Grundy told me I had to dig out the original graphic novel. I’ve invested in it and it’s in my pile of “to read” but then script work, reviews, book drafts, work, trying to impress a certain lady etc. have all got in the way.
For someone “cold” to all things WATCHMEN related, can I ask a simple curious question:
Is it likely that this huge level of hype and anticipation could have a negative effect on people new to the property but still interested in seeing it, who go in expecting ‘the world’ but come out going “Was that it?”
Anyone want to give me like a TOP 5 on why I should drop everything and start researching and reading the hell out of all things WATCHMEN?

Oh. Oh my God. I cannot belive what I have just watched. I had hopes that it’d be something special when we got to see the first trailer but that…..it was like I was seeing Alan Moore’s images come to life! Holy crap! That is, for me anyway, going to be one of the best movies of 2009, I am now totally convinced of that. And I don’t want to see anymore until I see the movie in the cinema. Anybody happen to have a Delorean kicking around that I can borrow?
And Gazz, I echo Grundy’s comment. Just read it already! Not only is it one of the best superhero comics ever it’s also a commentary on superheros in general, which is why the movie is going to appeal to people even if they have never come across the source material. The main characters are familiar even if they are not recognisable and the amazing story will draw people in. So read it! Then compare the comic to the images in that trailer and be amazed at what Snyder has seemingly done! In fact, I think my copy will be coming off the shelf in the morning.

Got the 720p trailer download to my ****ing computer.
Caught it at work this afternoon and rewatched it a few minutes ago in 720p. Holy crap. Is it really still 8 months away?!?
