*UPDATE* Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood Daily has the details of the financial reaming that WB is taking thanks to Fox. WB has to pony up “8 1/2% gross participation in the pic, and a piece of everything going forward including a sequel or spinoff, and a cash payment upfront including recoupment of its development”. Wowza!
At long last, the drama surrounding this film appears to be over! Fox and WB have settled their issues surrounding this movie. Exact details remain unknown, but you gotta know that some cash is going to change hands when this film is released on its previously scheduled date. I do wonder if either studio will profit from this film if they have to split the profits, but that’s their problem. I can watch the Watchmen March 6th in IMAX, and that’s all that really matters. Oh happy day!

Pretty much what I expected, I wasn’t worried about the release at all.
To be honest, neither was I really. The advertising machine has been ramping up on this recently, so it was pretty obvious that WB were pretty certain they were still going to be releasing the movie on time.
It will be interesting to see just what the settlement was, if it ever gets revealed, but the important thing is that the movie is getting released.
