Want To Know The Plot Of TRANSFORMERS 2… Allegedly?

Thanks to James for this “scoop” in the Comments Area: So Dreamworks / Paramount are publicly stating this is fake? Personally speaking I’m not surprised. It sounds kinda… well… shit! If truth be told! Warring factions within the enemy camp? The total destruction of Las Vegas? Keeping Sam and Mikela apart for the majority of the movie? Utterly confusing plot? Little to no Prime? Keeping Megatron to the end again? Nah… They can do better then this or, now that we know Ehren Kruger is at the typewriter on this, can they? Check out the alleged treatment for Transformers 2 by clicking here!

That shit had better be fake.

But wait, Transformers was kinda….shit too.

Oh no you didn’t Chris – tell me you didn’t just call Transformers “shit” in front of Kristina? We’d offer you protection but… Dude, you are on your own!

    Kristina – AAAAAAAAAAAATTACK!!!

    GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, I understand why he said that. There are things in that movie that I take issue with, too. The robots were hardly developed, the last battle is a cluster****, Megan Fox cannot act, the hackers storyline was USELESS, and the story overall was pretty asinine.

That being said, I was still entertained like crazy by the film. Shia was great, the action(save for that cluster****) was great, and dammit the whole sequence where the Autobots descend is GLORIOUS. I’ll proudly admit that I cried during that sequence when I saw it in IMAX. I can’t wait for the sequel.

My feelings pretty much exactly on the film too!

  • Grundy Said on October 11th, 2007 at 12:38 am 6

No, it was shit. And seeing as how the sequel is gonna be a pre-strike film, it’ll be shitter.

  • Gazz Said on October 11th, 2007 at 12:41 am 7

Nah Grundy, rumour has it – according to the IMDB – that they’ve hired Ehren Kruger to pick up the originally drafted writers slack as they work on other projects and they’re going to get special effects units to work on sequences and set pieces so that a script/production can be made up around them and filmed quickly in time for the June 09 release date and… Oh wait, the sequel does sound like a shithouse huh? ;)

Ehren Kruger, the only movie I could say he wrote that I was entertained by was Arlington Road.

  • Gazz Said on October 11th, 2007 at 12:56 am 9

EXACTLY! That was a superb conspiracy movie! I quite enjoyed DECEPTION too (aka REINDEER GAMES) but I like it less and less when I read all this stuff about him hanging John Frankenheimer and Ben Affleck out to dry to appease the studios and butcher his own “spec” script just to suck up!

  • James Said on October 11th, 2007 at 11:09 am 10

Yeah. Kruger is a total hack. If he turns up on a set you know you’re ****ed… The Brothers Grimm anyone?

  • James Said on October 11th, 2007 at 11:13 am 11

Transformers sucked but it was entertaining as hell and most of the bits that sucked were the more hilarious for doing so. Like, had they used Jetfire the film could have been forty minutes shorter but when you can have Anthony Anderson eating a plate of donuts, John Turturro getting ‘pissed’ on by a 20 ft robot, and Jon Voight shooting an antique shotgun at a robot ewok you don’t need to tighten up the plotting! It’s a laugh riot ;)

Hmm. I think if you actually like the cartoon and the comics from the 80s that sequel plot has promise but it will still feel like a retread of the first film, just with a different city getting trashed!

  • Gazz Said on October 11th, 2007 at 11:20 am 13

It smells of severe shiteness to me! The minute Kruger is involved in anything I switch straight out for one good reason explained in one word and a number:

    SCREAM 3

  • James Said on October 11th, 2007 at 12:25 pm 14

Oh god. Scream 3 was awful, wasn’t it?

  • Gazz Said on October 11th, 2007 at 1:17 pm 15

In the top five of worst movies I’ve ever seen!

  • James Said on October 11th, 2007 at 3:23 pm 16

Ha ha, I don’t like to admit to having seen it! I remember the final act being one of the shittest final acts I’ve ever sat through though. Oh man.

  • Wyverex Said on October 11th, 2007 at 3:26 pm 17

Scream was a good movie but by the time it had gotten to Scream 3 it had become such a bad parody, not just of horror movies but of itself, that it was just plain terrible!

And then they decided to go and “spoof” the franchise with Scary Movie! Didn’t anybody bother to explain that Scream was pretty much a parody in the first place??

  • Gazz Said on October 11th, 2007 at 8:44 pm 18

The thing is because Scream was so over-hyped and because Scream 3 was so so so atrocious, people tend to forget that sandwiched in the middle is Scream 2 which is a genuinely excellent piece of genre cinema!

  • James Said on October 12th, 2007 at 7:21 pm 19

Yeah, Scream 2 was cool. But this is the way of sequels. The good ones get abandoned like ugly children. It’s like The Exorcist 3 is actually really good, a creepy, atmospheric and intelligent thriller but it followed The Exorcist 2 which sucked. So everyone just assumes the third one could only be worse. Not so!
