Stale Popcorn

Sally Jupiter is one of the characters in Watchmen, a former superhero herself and mother of the Silk Spectre, and if you pay attention you can see a Vargas-esque painting of her during the trailer. But thankfully James Jean, who created the illustration for the movie, has uploaded a full size version, which  you can see below, on his website with the following information:

At 1:32 into the Watchmen trailer, you can see a glimpse of an illustration I did for the movie. Alex McDowell asked me to create a Vargas-esque portrait of Sally Jupiter, played by Carla Gugino. It only appears for 1 second in the trailer, but the illustration is supposed to play a larger role in that particular scene.

Interesting. I wonder what role the picture is going to play. Actually, seeing as it looks like the scene is set in the Comedian’s apartment, I can hazard a guess…..

Now, that’s pretty nice! Seriously, the more and more I see to do with Watchmen the harder the wait until March 2009 is becoming! I seriously wish I was able to attend Comicon on July 25th to see the teaser footage that’s been promised!
