THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPORER Teaser Online
/Film have gotten their hands on the teaser trailer for the third entry in The Mummy franchise, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and I’m really not sure what I can say about it. Let me put it like this……
It looks Godawful!
Yep, that just about sums it up. At one point in the teaser Rick O’Connell, played once again by Brendan Fraser screams “WHY AM I LAUGHING?!?!”. The answer? “Because you’ve been paid a lot of money to star in something that looks like a big steaming pile of poo”.
Yeah, I don’t like this trailer. And I enjoyed the first two movies. I really did. But if even Stephen Sommers didn’t want to be involved in the third movie then why would we be interested? Click here to watch it.
The trailer on /Film is a little glitchy and I have found two copies of it on Youtube (which you can see here and here) but they seem pretty crappy as well.

Hmm, looks pretty decent for a mummy film…which isn’t exactly saying much. What strikes me as weird though, is the fact that this trailer seemed far more competent than the last two Indy trailers. What’s going on??
THAT’S EXACTLY MY POINT TOO CHRIS!!!
I didn’t get a lot out of the Indy stuff that didn’t make me go “M’eh - shouldn’t be making this!”
Whereas this made me look and go “Hmm, could be fun!”
I’ve watched the trailer again, this time without it being all jerky, but my opinion hasn’t changed - I still think this looks like a load of tosh! How can you prefer this to the Indy trailers???
The only thing that piqued my interest in the trailer was the promise of a yeti fight.
I didn’t say I “prefered” it to the Indy trailer(s). It’s more to do with the fact that I’m so passionate about that franchise that there’s a sense of trepidation and worry attached to every inch of footage I see (opinion will soon be revealed tomorrow night!!!) whereas there’s no such worry with The Mummy franchise. What you see is what you get really. I dug the hell out of the first movie. I think the second is bloated but has some wonderful set pieces. I’m “open” to a third, that’s all I’m saying!
