Oh F**k No!!! SAW V and SAW VI Heading Our Way!

Jigsaw from Saw IV

I went and spoke too bloody soon didn’t I? Nor sooner do I publish my review of Saw IV, in which I wrote “…Thank God that Saw IV only just about recovered its budget and performed completely under what was expected because, god willing, it could well have killed the franchise…” then Teletext UK announces that a release day of October 24, 2008 has been announced for Saw V which is set to be shot back to back with Saw VI.

Dear God!!! Then there’s this from Wikipedia:

Costas Mandylor has signed up for the next two installments in the horror franchise along with main character, Jigsaw, portrayed by Tobin Bell. It was confirmed through multiple sources that David Hackl, the production designer for Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV and second unit director for Saw III and Saw IV has officially been announced to direct both Saw V and Saw VI. The writers of Saw IV, Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, will be writing Saw V and Saw VI. Saw V will be going into production after Christmas, and is set to be released on October 24, 2008. In an interview at IGN.com, Patrick Melton hinted that Saw V will reveal what happened to Corbett after Saw III. Producer Mark Burg has stated he wants Scott Patterson to return as Agent Strahm but is difficult as he’s doing a TV series.

Jesus Christ, this is the franchise equvilant of Colin Farrell, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley’s careers… It just won’t die!

The first one had a good idea/premise. It just failed in its execution.

Hehe Gazz, watch In Bruges and you might change your tune concerning Mr. Farrell.

I’ve seen the first two, but I feel this franchise has had enough of my money.
