New WATCHMEN Trailer… 5pm PST Tonight!
Nur Nur Nur - Nur Nur!! I finally grabbed the “limelight”… Wyv always seems to “cockblock” the rest of the staff (i.e. Kristina and I) when it comes to getting first word on the Watchmen Video Diaries. Kris has retaliated by always seeming to get first out the post on new posters and imagery for the same movie. Meanwhile, I lag behind, huffing and puffing, whilst gasping “But I recently read the book?”
Not anymore… Coz I can announce that the “new” Watchmen trailer will be online TONIGHT (5pm PST over in the USA) and you will be able to view it here.
And… And… And… That’s all I’ve got!
UPDATE: I re-edited the article as, by my own admission, I got my “E” and “P” mixed up in relation to the info I was sent, so although the initial talkback contributions between Kris and I may not make a whole heap of sense, the article itself is now accurate.

Well… I went with what was in the “announcement” that was in my inbox this morning AND that matched what other sites were saying too. But I got to say Kris, I’ve been keeping tabs on it whilst working on the site for the last 2 hours and I ain’t seen shit.
Do you think this is some elaborate prank designed to screw me coz I never get the lead on ANY Watchmen news? So they faked some, just to let me have my moment but then pull the rug out from underneath me?

I mean, I did have some doubts about Malin Ackerman coz, as batshit crazy and funny as she was in HEARTBREAK KID, I didn’t think dramatically she would be up to this, but there was enough there in that trailer to make me think I was way off!

Umm…I don’t like that they didn’t alter Manhattan’s voice. I always envisioned him with a godlike booming voice, not with Billy Crudup’s plain-old voice.
Funny, coz I always envisioned him sounding like Gilbert Goddfried
I think Manhattan’s voice is normal for the benefit of Laurie. He can pretty much do whatever he wants, if he wants to have a normal voice why wouldn’t he.
Watching it again his voice is normal, but it has a more detached quality to it, which I think works.

I just always figured his voice would be different. When reading the graphic novel, I noticed that when he’s Manhattan, his dialogue bubbles look different than when he was a normal guy, suggesting that his voice is different as Manhattan. Manhattan’s bubbles are jagged, while the other bubbles look like the regular comic book speak bubbles. It’s a minor nitpick, but I do wish the voice had been altered.
No, you’re thinking of Rorschach. Manhattan’s bubbles were blue with a white outlining, like I mentioned there does seem to be a bit of a detached quality to his voice, and I think that fine enough.

if the talk bubbles are white/blue then the voice in the movie should be altered. period.

i was pissed in the movie ironmna at how he never said anything when he was in the suit because in the comix his letters look all digital…so i alwasy pictured he talked like an autobot or something

But she was all upset, saying “Yeah, but what if some nasty group of lads have got a hold of him and have beaten him for his atrocious taste in movies, spitting ‘Spider-Man 3 lover’ in his face, with a vicious sneer, and then leaving him for dead on the side of some lonely road somewhere!”
