New Poster For Apatow’s FUNNY PEOPLE!
Q. When you have Eric Bana in your movie, you let the world know you have Eric Bana right? Unless you’re who?
A. Judd Apatow!
The new poster for his upcoming movie, Funny People, is viewable online now but you can just move your eyes to the ‘left’ of this very article and it is there for your perusal! Bana doesn’t even make the poster! I thought he was the lead? Ooooh… Judd Apatow wrong footed me! Clever!
I am so super excited to see this flick, I have to say. Despite the plethora of great flicks out in 2009, this is pretty high up on the list. Apatow is good ‘peeps’ in terms of what he puts out there as a producer (if you have not seen Freaks & Geeks yet then I wish only death upon you!) but on his writer/director pieces? Man, oh man! I just adore them! The 40 Year Old Virgin? Knocked Up? He is our generation’s Billy Wilder, as I have said time and time again!
He’s getting a little ‘darker’ this time around - Funny People sees a stand-up legend (Adam Sandler) learning he has a terminal disease and rethinking his life while helping out a comedy protege (Seth Rogen). Leslie Mann, Jonah Hill, RzA, Jason Schwartzman and Eric Bana also star. What a cast!!
And for those in the US, aged between 18 and 35, you could have a ‘walk on’ part in the movie by heading over to Mr Apatow’s MySpace page and entering the competition he is hosting!
I’m willing to go all out and predict this as my number one favourite movie of 2009 by the time we publish our ‘End of Year Top 25′ in twelve months time! And I ain’t even seen so much as a teaser trailer. I have THAT much faith* in Apatow and his cast!
* Psst… Mr Apatow, Sir?
Please don’t make Funny People shit? I’ll look reet silly! Punchline is actually a little under-rated, but still, try and make it better then that okay? :/
