*UPDATED* New INDIANA JONES 4 poster and plot points!
Indy 4 producer Frank Marshall has been speaking to USA Today and has confirmed a few plot point, character names etc. namely the yay or nay on whether there is that whole “alien” side-plot regarding the Crystal Skulls of the title, what Cate Blanchett’s character is called and how Ray Winstone plays into proceedings. Semi-spoiler stuff that can be found by clicking here. Anyway, back to Kris’ original article:
Christ, that title is long, but the poster is…interesting looking, I guess. The stuff around the sides looks like watermarks, and the way that Indy is positioned in the poster is a little off. Put him in the middle! Click to enlarge, and tell me what you think of the poster? Good? Bad? Ugly?

I like the poster. And I wouldn’t say the title is long, it’s the same length as Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Grundy - uh, what?
Raiders of the Lost Ark = 23 characters
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull = 50 characters
This is true Burbanked. But if you called Raiders “Indiana Jones And The Raiders of the Lost Ark”, which is what it would have been called if it followed the naming convention of the other movies in the franchise (obviously Raiders was named before it became a franchise!) and what it’s called on video/DVD, it suddenly gets a bit longer!
And Kingdom of the Crystal Skull isn’t that longer than Last Crusade or Temple of Doom, if you look at it like that:
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark = 37 letters
Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom = 29 letters
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade = 29 letters
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull = 42 letters
Which makes it only slightly longer than Raiders “longform” title. Ok, so that doesn’t make it roll off the tongue any easier but still!
God, I need to get out more.
Sorry; I simply can’t bring myself to call Raiders “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark”. It just doesn’t make sense to me with its silly, revisionist, marketing-friendly reasoning.
But I do see your point. But Crystal Skull is still longer.
I’m excited about the movie, certainly. It’s just that some of these things are worrying me.
but Crystal Skull is only 12 characters, 13 with the space .. lol :o

Good for you Gazz. Mine, on the other hand, never seems to change. Think there might be a bug there…….hmmmmm
OK I just figured out why. DOH! Never mind
Oh and you don’t need to “get me laid” I’m happily married, thank you very much!
You can’t be that “happily married” - you spend your time counting the letters in upcoming movie titles! LOL
Only “work” time

Gazz invaded me!
Wow…that sounded REALLY wrong…..
*uhm* .. should I be scared?
Kristina: Hope your finals went well.
Wyverex: You understand it. Being at work can drive you to do many alternative things — even count letters.
