New HELLBOY II Clip

If you’d have asked me the  what the one thing that I wasn’t expecting to see in Hellboy II: The Golden Army was then I might well have replied “slap-stick humour”. Just as well that I didn’t though as LatinoReview have been given an exclusive clip that shows an exchange between Hellboy and the protoplasmic Johann which can only be described as slap-stick!

Saying that, it still looks great and I am totally certain that this is going to be a great sequel and can’t wait until it is released on the 22nd of August here in the UK. Am I jealous that the USA are getting it on the 11th of July? Hell yes! Anyway, check out the clip here.

The clip was nice, I can’t wait to see this.

McFarlan actually sounds pretty great as Johann.

The best clip is the one at EW of HB saving a cat. CLASSIC.

And I feel for you guys who have to wait until August. I got two days to go and it’s killing me.

Poor international bastards. Shit I may just go ahead and go to a midnight screening on Thursday.

I don’t care. I don’t. Honestly. I’m not bothered by the fact that I have to wait four more weeks to see this than you Americans. Honestly I’m not.

And I’m not at all bothered that my local fleapit of a cinema will probably have another two or three weeks delay on top of that, if they bother to show it at all, so chances are my first experience of Hellboy II will be when the Blu-ray is released. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

Seriously though, my most anticipated movie of the year is released next week and I have to wait until the week starting the 11th of August for a chance to watch it!

Now that upsets me!! I’m going to be reading all these reviews saying how great it is, and be damn careful not to spoil it for myself, until I get the chance to see it myself.

Well, when I review HB2 tomorrow and TDK next week, I’ll make sure not to spoil a thing. I’ve been avoiding spoilers for both of them, and aside from making the mistake of beginning to read a review for HB2 and stopping when I realized that it gave a big ol’ honking spoiler for HB2 in the first damn sentence(though I’d had suspicions of this spoiler, I didn’t need it confirmed until I saw the movie), I’ve done well.

Thanks Kris, I’ll look forward to your reviews. But if you dislike either of them then I’ll be dismissing the review out of hand! ;)

Seriously though, don’t read ANY reviews if you’re really worried about staying spoiler-free. You can trust me not to, but some people think nothing of revealing major information in their reviews without giving a shred of spoiler warning. Some folks might not consider it to be a spoiler, so they write it in a review, but if you want to know as little as possible, DON’T read anything. That HB2 thing kinda pissed me off, because I’m going into the thing knowing a MAJOR plot development for a couple of the main characters, so while it may be a nice surprise for everyone else, I’ll be sitting there waiting for it to come up. Ebert, God bless him, has been in spoiler mode like crazy lately, so I can’t even trust him.

Yeah I agree entirely! Sometimes it is very hard to talk about some aspect of a movie without giving away a major plot point, unless you make it as generic as hell, but as long as you warn the readers, or give them an option to skip it, it’s not such a bad thing.

But I absolutely hate it when I’m reading a review when out of nowhere they reveal something which either doesn’t need to be discussed or shouldn’t be discovered until you watch the movie it really annoys the hell out of me! It’s not a big deal to put a spoiler warning on a review - it’s only two words after all! ;)

    As of last night…

I HAVE SEEN THE DARK KNIGHT!

The very reason there isn’t a review up is because of exactly what is being discussed in this very talkbalk. I cannot put down in words what I love and why I love it without discussing particular points of the movie, and believe you me, the trailers and advertising (for once) don’t even so much as scrape the surface on this movie… so I don’t want to put anything down that could in anyway detract from someone getting the cold, fresh viewing experience that I had.

I’ve written the review and I’m going to hold off until I see it again on the 23rd (tickets already booked!) in case I want to add anything but what I will say is this…

THIS ISN’T A COMIC BOOK MOVIE. THIS ISN’T A PARTICULARLY ‘STRONG’ SEQUEL IN THE SAME WAY AS SUPERMAN 2 OR BLADE 2 OR X-MEN 2. THIS IS A GODDAMN WORK OF ART IN ITS OWN RIGHT. THIS IS EVERYTHING YOU WANT IT TO BE AND MORE. THIS IS MAINSTREAM FILMMAKING AT THE VERY TOP OF ITS GAME. THIS IS THE FILM OF THE YEAR IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE.

I so cannot wait to watch this again on the 23rd and, even better, I am really excited about it seeing it again on DVD back to back with BATMAN BEGINS!

Believe everything you’ve heard people. THE DARK KNIGHT is not just the film of the year but could quite possibly be one of the best movies of the last five to ten years!

    Oh Gazz…

DAMN YOU FOR SEEING THIS BEFORE ME. DAMN YOU!!!! :horny:

Seriously Kris, this film is not even worthy of The Godfather Part II, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back comparisons…

… It is better then ALL of them.

    Honestly!

And… SO freakin’ dark in tone for a mainstream blockbuster movie too!

    I adore it!

I call bullshit on that statement.

Well if anyone of us on this site can be accurately accused of hyperbole then it is me (I did give Indy 4 “four popcorns” initially!) so maybe I am being a bit ’strong’ in suggesting it is “better” then all those classics listed but at the time of writing, and still now actually, I was buzzing of the film’s awesomeness! I’ll stand by the original comment BUT may also have to admit that it’s more likely “just as great” and not necessarily “better”.
