More KLUMP Added To The Receipe Of Disaster That Is Eddie Murphy’s Career?
EmpireOnline are reporting that tenative moves are being made to ressurect the Eddie Murphy / Nutty Professor movies. Murphy is said to be unwilling to sign on until he has seen a script (since when has a quality script ever stopped him?) but Universal has sent out an open call to writers in Hollywood, asking for pitches for a potential threequel.
I think the first (a remake of the Jerry Lewis flick) is a whole heap of fun. The second, trying to give audiences more of what they loved about the first (i.e. more of The Klumps), did so without any thought to putting in a solid script etc. and bounces between watchable and embarrassing on a frequent level. Do I want to see a third?
Hell no! As I’ve said numerous times, there’s only one career path Murphy can take now and he’s resolutely refusing to take it: He needs to get back out into the world of stand-up comedy movies. He needs to swallow what bitterness he has and do a hosting gig on SNL. He needs to do a “Willis” and rejuvenate himself and his career by surrounding himself with great gigs in ensemble movies (look how well that worked in Dreamgirls). And he needs to sit back, take a break, and walk away from this weird little embarrassing career he has going for himself right now.
Nutty Professor III: Taking A Klump On Your Patience (my title, copyrighted, come buy it Universal!) is not the way to go!

I literally almost peed myself from laughing in the first one. I never saw the second one since it looked terrible. His career is now a blueprint of what NOT to do if you want to be respected in Hollywood.
By the way Kris, I am doing my first interview EVER for the site tomorrow!
Wish me luck. I am poopin it! I bet I turn into Chris Farley:
“Remember that bit when you did that thing and it was totally awesome? Remember that? Yeah? That was so cool! Remember that?”
every movie hes been on for the last two years..has been emberrasing…like- when i see the trailers…i feel so emberrased
especially that new one “meet dave” that looked so bad…its not even funny
and well….then there was norbit…ugh
ever since daddy day care this guys been sucking the big dick…(daddy day care was great…but that movie was the line that separated his career from great, to camel period blood mixed with possum shit)
REALLY?!?
You drew the line at DADDY DAY CARE?
Are you serious?
Dude… 90% of everything he made after 1988 is diabolical. Take out The Nutty Professor, the Shrek movies (well - the first two anyway!), Bowfinger, Mulan, Dreamgirls and Life.
What are you left with?
Meet Dave, Norbit, The Haunted Mansion, Daddy Day Care, I Spy, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, Dr. Dolittle 2, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, Holy Man, Doctor Dolittle,
Metro, Vampire in Brooklyn, Beverly Hills Cop III, The Distinguished Gentleman, Another 48 Hrs. and Harlem Nights
Hazmat - that is a HORROR SHOW of a CV! Seriously!!
Please… reconsider your opinion!
it doesnt really matter dude, all his movies ****ing suck
in remember watching in the 90s and liking him…then the haunted mansion came…
and daddy day care was really good
