MAX PAYNE Teaser Trailer Online
I haven’t really given much coverage to the forthcoming movie adaption of Max Payne, which I remember playing on PC years ago! The game itself was great fun, with a wonderful implementation of “bullet time” and very, very violent, and I guess fans of the game have been holding out for a movie adaption for years now - and now they’re getting one with Mark Wahlberg playing the titular character of Payne.
The movie, according to IMDB, is going to tell the story of a DEA agent (Payne) and an assassin, Mona Sax (played by Mila Kunis), coming togeather to solve a series of murders in New York and avenge the deaths of Payne’s family and Sax’s sister while being hunted by mobsters, police and a ruthless corporation and as well as Kunis and Wahlberg also stars Beau Bridges, Ludacris and Chris O’Donnell.
Now, if you are familiar with the computer game and it’s sequel then this sounds like they are actually doing an amalgamation of both the original video game and the sequel, but maybe that’s no bad thing.
I never played the sequel, but the first game slipped into a “dream” level at the end (I think) of each level of the game, and it looks like they are going down that route in the movie as well - unless there really are going to be giant winged creatures in the movie and it’s going to have a more fantasy-tinged story than you’d expect!
Anyway, enough waffling from me - check out the teaser trailer below. I think it does look quite interesting, even if some of the visuals did put me in mind of Sin City at times! I’m really not expecting much from this, and lets be fair there haven’t been many successful video game to movie adaptions, but it might be an entertaining movie when it’s released at the end of the year.

M’eh… Wahlberg! The Happening is too fresh for me to consider anything else with him in it (asides from that boxing movie he’s got coming up with Brad Pitt and Darren Aronofsky!) and I’ve seen Mila Kunis’ boobies in Forgetting Sarah Marshall so really this isn’t going on my radar yet just based off this!
Not a terrible trailer, but it’s still a video game movie, which means it’ll most likely suck.
