Jokerised THE DARK KNIGHT Trailer!

Twelve lucky people who took part in the viral marketing event for The Dark Knight on Sunday (you know, the one where they got to see the new trailer) won a film reel containing the trailer. Well, almost. Turns out that the trailer contained on the film reel was a “Jokerised” version of the trailer - with little additions to every frame. Check it out below:

Isn’t that just wonderful? I especially love the “lightsaber” and Batman “dropping bombs” as he’s gliding!

Personally I think this is an excellent touch. It was pretty damn apparent that anyone who won the trailer would post it online for the world to see - but that doesn’t matter as it’s not exactly the trailer that will debut on the internet this coming Sunday!

The marketing that Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros have applied to The Dark Knight is truly ground breaking. There was a point where I was getting a little sick and tired of seeing the updates in the seemingly never ending campaign but the closer we get to the release date, and the more and more tricks they pull on the participants, the more I am intrigued and amused by the proceedings! And I would be very surprised if this is the end of the viral campaign, and more and more movies are going to try and emulate them I should think. But anyone who does copy this campaign are going to have to work pretty damn hard to best them as they really are setting the bar high!

Lets just hope that the movie lives up to the expectations.
