Johnny Depp Is Too Classy For Words!

This isn’t technically “movie news”, but this story put the biggest smile on my face, so I thought I’d share it.  You have got to read THIS.  Johnny’s daughter was very ill last year, to the point that there was fear that she might die.  Sweeney Todd was put on hold while Johnny held vigil at her bedside.  Johnny was so grateful to the hospital for taking such good care of his daughter, that not only did he donate a million smackers to the hospital AND invite the doctors and nurses to the Sweeney Todd premiere, but he did something so unbelievably friggin’ cool that I cannot wipe the smile off of my face.

The guy went to the hospital and read to sick kids.  For four hours.  DRESSED AS CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW.  He had the actual costume flown over from LA so he could wear it for the kids.  Can you imagine being a sick little kid in a hospital, and Captain Jack walks into the room?  Oh, I would pay good money to see the smiles on those kids faces, getting a hug from him in the actual costume.

Johnny Depp, I salute you, sir.

Wow, that is something else. My little brother was very sick a few years back, and spent some time on the floors where the VERY sick kids are. Some of them get better and leave, and some spend their last days there. And when they smile, that’s special, Good show Mr. Depp!

In a day and age when celebs get more attention for misbehaving, I wish we had more good stuff like this to report, especially in light of recent events in the entertainment industry.
