Jason Bateman Checks Out The STATE OF PLAY!

We reported a week or so ago about the upcoming Hollywood big-screen “remake” of the fantastic BBC mini-drama, State of Play (my adoring thoughts on it can be read by clicking here!), and the fact that the leads – a reunion of Brad Pitt and Edward Norton – had been rather superbly cast.

Now it turns out that Jason Bateman is joining the cast. This guy was the motherf**kin’ Teen Wolf Too and he was in Arrested Development as well, but that’s obviously a lesser achievement right? ;) I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I’m ecstatic with how they are developing this project. I’m now officially 100% behind it, which I never thought I would be when it was first announced.

EmpireOnline are predicting Bateman will be taking on the role originally played by James McAvoy in the BBC original – that of the roguish playboy journalist who will come to Brad Pitt’s aid and eventually reveal himself to be Pitt’s editors estranged son along the way!

Great stuff! If you’ve never seen State of Play and don’t know what the hell I’m talking about then import it, buy it, whatever – just get yourself a copy! Here’s a good place to start! ;)
