IRON MAN Is The Big Hit Of 2008. So Far…
So Iron Man has just opened worldwide (check out Gazz’s review of it here) and has has an amazing opening weekend - in the USA it grossed $98,618,668, which places it at number ten in the highest grossing opening weekends of all time (beaten by the likes of Spider-Man 3, Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith and Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire) and taking $198,218,668 worldwide - which is a fantastic opening weekend, meaning the movie has surpassed it’s production budget of $140 million in it’s first weekend and pretty much making the sequel a certainty. This is fantastic news, but doesn’t anyone else find it a little odd that it will probably get knocked out of the top ten in three weeks time when Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is released? But the bar has been set, and the other big comic book movie of this year is going to have to do amazingly well to top Iron Man’s opening.

Iron Man was a practically flawless hero flick; its makers drop some pretty obvious sequel hints too… i’m thinking the next one should be equally great
