INDY 5?!

just_say_noYou have got to be kidding me.  I mean, REALLY guys?  REALLY?!  You want to subject us to more fridges being nuked, more CGI monkeys, more aliens that kill with their magical eyes that are filled with KNOWLEDGE?!  Well, if TheBeef is to be believed, Spielberg is at work developing Indy 5, though there’s no word on who is or isn’t coming back to further make a laughingstock of this once venerated series.  God help us all.  Indy 4 was such a waste of my time and a real piece of crap, no matter how much apologists try to make excuses for it.  Are ANY of you interested in Indy 5, and if so, may I recommend a good shrink for you?

If its not Harrison Ford then Ill be interested

I hate it when they show movies in which the dude comes back from retirement (MI: 3, Rocky Balboa, Indy 4) Just get a new Indy

I also think Steven Spielberg is extremely overrated and I would rather him not be involved at all..but apparently he is…

If it follows the first 3 movies as if 4 never happened i would like that, but if it reminds me at all of the 4th one Ill seriously fly a plane into a building

And if they do get a new Indy, please dont let it be Shia. I really like Shia but I dont like him as a leading actor or as Indy

    Well…I actually wanna see this…

    Its ****ing Indiana Jones

I just dont want Fords old ass in it.

And it wasnt all Spielberg fault, I mean there isnt much he could do, but in the end, he could have prevented this shit. Everyone blames the rest of the crew in charged of whatever but, it all boils down to Steven Spielberg green lighting this and not saying
“You know what guys? Scratch this scene- were re-doing it…im not having monkeys with shias hair”
So if Spielberg isnt in it I would be pretty happy

What you have to remember, regardless of your own opinion about the fourth movie, is that it was a commercial success. Yes, it might not have been a critical success, but it certainly didn’t bomb!

    Look at the numbers:

US Domestic it took $317,101,119. Foreign box office was $469,534,914, giving it a worldwide box office take of $786,636,033. It was the third highest grossing release of 2008 (only coming in behind The Dark Knight and Iron Man) and took just under $100 million more than the fourth highest movie of 2008.

When it was released on Blu-Ray in the UK it became one of the top ten releases of the year. I don’t know about the US, but I would assume that was pretty similar.

And that’s what it boils down to. It was a commercial success. It made the studio a lot of money, simple as. So the idea of there being another movie isn’t exactly surprising, now is it?

And not being an apologist, but I enjoyed it. Yes, there were things that I didn’t overly like but overall I enjoyed it. And I would possibly be up for a fifth Harrison Ford starring Indy adventure – as would a lot of other people!

As for someone else taking over the hat and whip from Ford….I think it’s too soon for most people.
