ShockTillYouDrop have reported that Richard Matheson, author of the original 1954 novel that inspired The Last Man On Earth, The Omega Man and the more recent Will Smith starring I Am Legend, has signed the rights for a possible sequel over to Warner Bros. Now, this doesn’t actually mean that there will be a sequel, it just means that if the movie is a success (and with a total worldwide box office of $462,844,213 at the moment I think you could call it that!), then Warners can develop one.
Good news? Bad news? As I haven’t seen the movie myself I can’t tell you one way or the other. Have you seen it? And are you interested in a sequel?

One Response to “I AM ALSO A LEGEND? Will Smith End Of The World Flick Gets A Sequel?”
* SPOILERS *
A sequel that springs from “that” ending?
No thanks!
To be honest, franchising this would be the ultimate sign of desperation. What they going to do? Have the “dark things” attack the compound we seen at the end of the first movie? No thanks! Have Will Smith turn out not to be dead after all? Yuk! Another location, another lone person? Imagine the tagline for the poster “The last man on earth turned out not to be alone because he discovered a woman and a child in the last movie, and a whole compound of others, but now there’s this man who thinks he’s the last man on earth but he isn’t either!” Come the **** on man!
No, no and no!
