GREEN STREET HOOLIGANS 2 Trailer Online

I’m going to start this with something I don’t normally do…….

WHAT THE F*$K?!?!?! A sequel to Green Street (if you go by the UK title)? The pretty disappointing  “football hooligan” movie directed by Lexi Alexander has somehow generated a sequel? Who the hell thought that would be a good idea??

Ok, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way…there is indeed a sequel being made to Green Street, which is entitled Green Street Hooligans 2: Stand Your Ground and, well, words actually fail me as to how bad it looks!

Before I share the trailer with you, let me show you the “official synopsis” taken directly from the Odd Lot Entertainment website:

Following the deadly climax of “Green Street Hooligans,” several members of the West Ham firm and numerous members of Millwall end up in jail. The GSE quickly discover the brutality of life on the inside, as they are constant targets of the superior numbers and better-financed Millwall crew. Football on the inside and out is followed fervently by the prisoners and wins and losses by both are quickly followed by punishment or reward. This could mean a beating or an extra shower or a day of visitation, which inspires extreme behavior. When overcrowding compels a need for the early release of a fortunate few, fate brings West Ham and Millwall together again this time on a Pitch. The stakes are the highest they have ever been for all concerned with death or freedom quite literally a goal away. Game on.

So the script follows “numerous members of Millwall” (I assume they actually mean the ICF and not the Football club itself – but I could be wrong!) in jail. So you would assume that the sequel stars more than a few people from the original, right?

Well, you know what they say about assumptions, don’t you?

The only person reprising his role from the orginial movie is Ross McCall who played Dave (no, I can’t remember him from the first movie either – but apparently he was one of the other members of the ICF not played by Elijah Wood or Charlie Hunnam.

And judging by the trailer, for some reason these members of the English hooligan firms have ended up in one of the prisons normally associated with people like Michael Scofield – yeah, it looks like they’re in America!

Oh, and it also looks like the Prison officers decide that the best way for these violent prisoners to settle their differences is in some kind of no-rules football match.

I say again………..WTF?!?!

Anyway, enough talking….check out the trailer below.

It really does look bad, doesn’t it? But if you want a laugh click on this here link and see what the writer of the original movie, Dougie Brimson, has to say about the sequel.

It does look worse than the original. And another tell that it clearly isn’t England, it’s sunny.

From what I’ve heard Brimson also had a problem with how Alexander did the first one.

I’m never forced into anything. I might be “asked”, but never actually “forced”.

Anyway, no, I did this out of choice – mainly because I couldn’t believe:

    1) It was being made

    &

    2) How amazingly bad/stupid/idiotic it looked!

And yes, Grundy, you’re right. Brimson distanced himself from the first movie due to “creative differences” between what he’d written and Alexander wanted to film for some of the characters. Which is when the Marketing bods for the original movie suddenly came up with the idea (having lost a real link to football hooligans due to Brimson once having been one) that they’d start saying that it was based off of Alexanders experience with hooliganism with her brother in Germany or some such cobblers.

“asked” = “forced” in certain circumstances ;)

I saw the trailer already, and thought “Howd did they end up in a South Amercian prison full of Latino gangs?”. But no, as you said, its jolly old Ing-Gil-And (thats what it sounds like when football people chant it). Boys oh boys, it looks bad.
