Goku & Piccolo Cast In DRAGONBALL Movie
Anyone who was here when we first went online in September may remember me writing about a live action movie version of the popular anime Dragonball being developed and then about the casting call for the movie and a director (James Wong – director of Final Destination) being hired. Well, now the news has broken that the main characters of Goku (the good guy) and Piccolo (the bad guy) have been cast. And it’s none other than a very popular vampire and Tom Cruises’ son!
Ok, that was a little misleading. So in the role of Goku they have cast Justin Chatwin, who played Robbie in War of the Worlds and The Invisible. Now, I’m not sure what look they are going for here, but as the movie seems to be being based on the original Dragonball storyline Goku should have been a young boy. As this is obviously not the case I wonder if they are going to base his look on the grownup Goku from Dragonball Z. If so, I can’t wait to see this hair onscreen! It’ll be like a Flock Of Seagulls flashback!
So that’s Goku taken care of. But who’s filling the big green boots of bad guy Piccolo? Why, none other than everyone’s favourite vampire, James Marsters!
Again, I have no idea how this is going to be portrayed in the live action movie, but if it’s similar to the anime then Piccolo will be a green guy with antenna coming out of his head – could be an interesting look for Marsters!
To be honest with you I’m still pretty unsold on this movie. I like the cartoon show (I used to while away many a sunday morning watching it when I lived in Amsterdam) but I just don’t think it’s going to translate well to the big screen. But maybe when the trailer hit’s it’ll blow me away. Who knows?

Heck, I don’t even like the cartoon show. Boring as hell. Oh well, not like we expected anything good to be in the planning stages during the writer’s strike.
Personally, I would like to blast Hollywood away to stop it from ruining my favourite series, but I guess now I’ll just learn from the Japanese and settle with getting everyone to boycott it
Ok what the h e double hockey sticks happend to the original cast that started off with the cell saga. Can you really honestly tell me that this is a true martial arts film or another cheap power rangers knock off. I hope this film doesnt flop I am a true fan of the cartoon and comic book and widh this was better cast.
