EVIL DEAD 4 Not Actually Dead?

Not that I really want to be responsible for bringing this post back to life but, as it is one of the most visited articles on the site I felt it only proper that I bring to light the latest movements on Evil Dead 4, a project that many of us had thought had “died” a long time ago. But it seems as if you can never keep a Deadite down as news from Comic-Con suggests that their might be life left in the franchise yet.

Speaking at the Drag Me To Hell panel Sam Raimi revealed that he would love to do a fourth Evil Dead movie and said:

“I love working with Bruce Campbell and he’s like Allison [Lohman, star of Raimi’s Drag Me To Hell]. He’s super willing to do anything to make it right. He’s a very funny guy, but mostly he’s got this quality where he will physically do anything to get the shot done right, so I would love to work with Bruce again because I’d love to test those limits. I’d love to make another Evil Dead picture. And actually that’s in the wheelhouse. I’d like to work on it with my brother Ivan [Raimi] when he comes up next week.“

Now, he hasn’t said that he is going to write it, he said he’d like to write it, just like he didn’t actually say that he was going to direct it (which means that anyone looking forward to Raimi returning to Spider-Man can stop spitting their dummies out of the pram right this second), but there you go, it’s out there – Sam Raimi has now officially confirmed that Evil Dead 4 is a possibility.

You just couldn’t help yourself could you fella? You just couldn’t leave it the **** alone! Now you’ve reopened the whole “wound” again and all these 14 year old virgins with posters of Campbell on their wall are going to start heading over here again and handing me my ass in the talkbalks again.

    *sigh*

Best get in there first I suppose:

Everything I’ve heard is that everyone involved is not adverse to the idea of a fourth one, but that it won’t actually happen. Campbell was recently talking about the fact that he’d rather waste energy fighting for sequels to other movies of his then fighting for this because there’s more chance of the others getting made.

Right… Come on 14 year old newbies who don’t know what the touch of a woman feels like.
BRING. IT. THE. ****. ON.
