Early INSATIABLE Trailer Online!
Loyal readers of my stuff will most probably recall that, in our dying days over on Filmrot, I was publishing a guest blog of sorts, by one of our regulars, Sean Coughlan, who detailed the behind-the-scenes shenanigans of an Irish horror movie called Insatiable. I was just chatting with him again recently and he put me in the direction of an “early” (i.e. little rough around the edges / not entirely focused and clear re plot) trailer for the film which you can find here!
This looks ace huh? I mean, it has lesbian kisses, blood, Irish accents and a great deal of atmosphere. And, seeing as I was recently asked to described my ideal movie and I said “A one with lesbian kisses, blood, Irish accents, Tom Selleck and a great deal of atmosphere!”, I’d say that Insatiable isn’t too many shades shy of being pretty friggin’ sweet if you ask me! And its got Nora Jane Noone - who I was admittedly no fan of in The Descent and Doomsday but who my opinion has completely changed on since I watched her performance in The Magdalene Sisters and she blew me away. You ever seen that movie? No, go rent it NOW! Noone’s performance in that is one of the best of the last ten years, I shit ye not! Makes me feel like a bit of a plank for ripping on her :/
Anyway, I digress: Watching this collection of three and a half minutes worth of footage evoked feelings of The Wicker Man and Death Line and some mid-to-late period Hammer Horror fare. And this is most definitely a good thing. I’m going to try and arrange an interview with the director, Jessie Kirby, and hopefully a sneak-peek at the flick in the near future but in the meantime, check this out! NB: Nope, the picture doesn’t have anything to do with the product I’m pimping. But I was looking for a little “visual accompaniment” to the article, I typed in “cannabilism” (which is kind of a theme in the movie) and this popped straight up so I thought “Why not? When else will I get to use Seinfeld imagery in a thoroughly unrelated post?” And… so it was!

Anything crossed with Death Line aka Raw Meat is worth checking out.
I ‘think’ this could be friggin’ sweet!
In fact, I’m prepared to go out on a limb for this flick!
We’re really pleased with how it turned out anyway. It’s less of a Hostel/Saw type horror and more in the vein of Straw Dogs and the like. The term I’ve been using in ‘emotional horror’ The centre of it is really a character drama with the relationship between Ellie and Rachel. It’s definitely more character-focused than gore focused anyway. Want to evoke the feeling of horror from the 70s, slow-burning, psychological stuff.
Yes, yes, that’s all well and good but the question I, and everyone else, would like to know is…
… Are you going to get me one night, alone, in a hotel room with Nora Jane Noone?
And I’m even willing to go as high as a Premier Inn, not a Travel Lodge!
I’m sure she’ll be well charmed by you declaring your lust all across the internet anyway, who could resist that?!? You won’t need any help from me! :p
I sense your sarcasm, so I’m willing to throw in a twix too!
NB: Not king-sized! What the **** does she think I am? Made of money?
PS
Ladies just love being “geeked” over on the internet! Just ask Madonna. The last guy that “flattered” her she had jailed…
… Oh wait, my example is flawed!
Anyway, like Nora Jane Nooone reads Stale Popcorn!
“Nora! We’ve got the new Tarantino script. It has to be read TONIGHT and you need to accept by tomorrow morning!”
“Sorry, I’ve got the talkbacks at Stale Popcorn to get through! Tell him, not this time!”
The Twix may just swing it. I know it’d work on me, but then again I’m easy. Just one finger’d do me. :p
You, sir, are uncouth!
Pot, kettle, black…..
Why are you naming random kitchen implements and colours sir? Do we need to send you for a lie down again? Lol
