Does IRON MAN Have A New Daddy?

The Kodak TheaterLatino Review is reporting that the role of Tony Stark’s deceased father has been recast from the actor seen in that PowerPoint presentation at the beginning of the movie.  Apparently, Howard Stark shows up in an important flashback in Iron Man 2, and Favreau is bringing in a big gun to play Iron Man’s daddy: Academy-Award Winner Tim Robbins.  Now, I’m of two minds about this news.  On one hand, I love Tim Robbins, and anytime that he joins the cast of a film is good news in my book.  On the other hand, flashbacks in comic-book movies have a bad track record with me.  The “Uncle Ben’s car in heaven” scene in Spiderman 2 was a laugh riot.  The tot Jean flashback in X3 wasn’t bad, but really wasn’t necessary.  Now we’re going to have Tony’s poppa running around?  Word online is that the flashback involves more setup for The Avengers  movie that is fast approaching, but if you are in a theater next year and notice an odd flashback that sticks out like a sore thumb…well, you heard it here first.

im sure itll be about him making caps shield in WW2 for cap. because in the ultimates SHIELD makes the shield but its a triangle shield…and tony had the shield on him in ironman (you all remember that picture i suppose) so im sure he passed the shield on to tony and the flashback will be about the shield

    well thats what i hope

The Uncle Ben scene from Spider-Man 2 was a dream and not flashback.

    True. Still a laugh riot.

it was a half flashback, hence the car and uncle ben in front of the library. and half dream, because of the “peter you have to be spiderman” bullshit
i always thought most flashbacks WERE dreams

obviously spiderman was on meth at the moment
