DIE HARD 5 In Production By 2010?
Treat this with the contempt it deserves but according to Teletext UK, a fifth Die Hard movie is in the offing. According to a quote they’ve associated to Bruce Willis, aka John McClane, aka the man they need to be onboard:
“…Well I know they’re interested because the last one did fantastically well for them but I’m not prepared to see a development process as lengthy as what we had last time. I’ve given them two years to come up with something good, something that exceeds the quality of the last one because that’s what we should be doing with each sequel, and I’ll walk straight into production if it works for me. If nothing comes together in two years then I’m more than happy for Live Free [aka Die Hard 4.0] to be McClane’s swansong!”
Did I happen to mention Mr Willis that I happen to have a spec Die Hard sequel script just sat in a drawer in my house that I wrote whilst in college? I can dust it off and take out the Monica Lewinsky jokes if you want? There’s even roles for Bonnie Bedelia, Reginald Veljohnson and William ‘God of the 80s’ Atherton too. Think about it. Have your people call my people. (Psst… I don’t have “people” so you should probably have them contact me directly!)

Hell yes!!! As long as you don’t screw up th series, then make another!!! The 4 ‘Die Hard’ movies are the 4 greatest action flicks ever made, and if you make another, I’ll be there midnight opening night (again)!!!

A lot of people thought additional Die Hard flicks was a bad idea. I could never understand that. It is true that none will ever be as good as the original, but to me they are the best action movies of all time. Keep them coming!
As a massive fan of the Die Hard Trilogy, I have to say I was a little disappointed with Die Hard 4. Firstly, the obvious, huge and annoying gap between 3 and 4. Then, it didn’t really have that same style as the others, almost like it was ‘just another action movie’. The ‘daughter thing’ was cheezy and I was hoping that all the original cast would come back, you know, Al, Holly, the a-hole reporter etc. To follow Lethal Weapon 4’s example, but no! To do a 5th is undoubtedly pushing the boat out, but if it were to end in a ’stand off’ with the baddie and Mclane, ending in both their deaths, that would be the ultimate climax and final closure to the whole affair. I mean lets face it, bullet proof, fire proof, bomb proof, airplane crash proof, jump off really tall buildings without parachute proof, blatantly in the crosshairs of a sniper proof. Hhmmm… I wonder if he’s ‘Terminator’ proof. Nuff said. I’ll be back, LOL.
