Craaaaaaaazy Amount (Okay — Four!) Of Interesting News Announcements!
Huge amounts of interesting news broke this afternoon, and I’m about to rush off and FINALLY watch Michael Mann’s “lost” cult movie, The Keep, so I don’t have time to do separate articles but…
… Check out the trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler, which has finally emerged, and looks really really interesting – but is the coverage on Mickey Rourke’s performance heading into the territory marked “over-hyped”? Who knows? It certainly looks like a stellar performance from this trailer it has to be said!
… Will Smith talked, at the premiere of his new movie Seven Pounds, about the rumoured remake of Old Boy with Steven Spielberg. He states it IS happening and that they are delving into the original source material – i.e. the comic books the Korean movie was based on – and not the Korean movie itself! Hmmm. Read more about that here!
… The remake of George A. Romero’s The Crazies, being helmed by Sahara director Brett Eisner (who said nepotism was dead in Hollywood?), has cast its lead – and that lead will be Timothy Olyphant. Because, you know, he was SO good in Hitman. Ha Ha. Read about that here!
… Arrested Development – The Movie? It seems like it’s finally becoming more than a rumour. And this isn’t a rumour that the rumour is gathering fact, like before. This is fact, regarding the rumour, coming from none other than Ron Howard himself. Read his exact quotes here!
