I don’t usually report on a movie’s box office takings, unless it has some direct relevance to a sequel or some other piece of news, but I felt I just had to share this with you!
Cloverfield has taken the number one spot at the US box office (which isn’t really a surprise is it) and in doing so has smashed the record for a movie’s opening weekend in January. To date it has taken $41,000,000 in box office receipts which has beaten the previous record holder by a total of $5,093,33! And what was the previous record holder you ask? Why, it was Star Wars: A New Hope Special Edition, which was released on 31st of January 1997! Way to go Cloverfield!!!
Now all we gotta do is wait until Kristina is able to get out to see it to get a review up on the site…..
