Baz Defends AUSTRALIA And Announces GATSBY!
My beloved Australia is sinking fast at the box office, but the feisty Baz Lurhmann is making no repentant remarks, instead choosing to announce his next bomb, an interpretation of The Great Gatsby. Look, I’m a big fan of Baz’s stuff. I dug William Shakespeare’s Romeo+Juliet, and Moulin Rougeis one of my all-time favorite films, but his films do not make money. I find it very odd that he continues to conjure together such massive, sprawling films when they habitually bomb at the box office. This isn’t an Uwe Boll situation where tax loopholes allow him to find funding for his stuff. Studios give this guy truckloads of their moneyso that he can lose it for them. As much as I enjoyed Australia, 20th Century Fox was smoking something if they thought that this film was going to become some sort of phenomenon, especially with ice queen Nicole Kidman as the lead. I wish Baz good luck with his latest endeavor, but I can be realistic and call it D.O.A. right now.

not everyone saw “hush” but i liked it.
and everyone saw bladderunner and its the single most god awful movie ever (sorry coneheads)

Hazzy, I never said that just because someone doesn’t see a movie means that it sucks. I’m just saying that his films routinely bomb, no matter how good some folks (myself) find them to be.
The man clearly has some form of mild retardation going on here.
something like that, i have anger issues but only towards characters such as romeo or the chick from the titanic or people who kill horses because they broke their leg
…my friends know im kinda crazy but they dont mind. as long as they make sure a dog doesnt come withing a 20 yard diameter from me theyll know theyre safe.
its kinda fun to see people disrespect others online because obviously theres nothing i can do about it which is a real shame =(

i never said you did…just kinda relevant since twilight made that much money and the day the earth stood still is also doing pretty good.
sometimes i know a movie will suck…but ill watch it because of the actor/actress…
