Not much needs to be said, really. The trailer for Avatar has arrived online and can be seen by clicking here!
Be sure to come back and tell us what you think about James Cameron’s epic, and supposedly redefining, Sci-Fi movie.
OK, so now I’ve watched the trailer….and I want to watch it again!
That is possibly the best looking CGI I have ever seen – it certainly looks like it might well push the boundaries of cinema, which is what we have been led to believe.
If nothing else, it looks like it should be a fantastic science-fiction epic. And did anyone else realise that Sam Worthington’s character was disabled? Had I somehow managed to miss that information all this time?
Avatar will be redefining the cinema experience everywhere on 18th of December 2009.

He’s sold it to me!
I really wasn’t impressed. The design of the aliens looks a little too close to Jar Jar for my taste, and the footage that I saw failed to engage me. I’ve had this weird feeling in regards to this movie, that for all the online hype and fanboy craze, the general public is going to greet this with a shrug of the shoulders and a resounding “meh”. I just didn’t like it.
I thought it was all going to look very fake and plastic-looking but, well, whilst it is a looooooooooong way of the “as-close-to-real” as Cameron has been promising, it’s still extremely impressive!
Maybe it’ll look different on the big screen, but on my computer, it looked like a video game.
Wow, i didnt think it was going to me this painfully average
I predicted it would be godlike, looks pretty lame
Ill be watching Sherlock Holmes in december
Unless the full trailer is better
Maybe they wont look so much like a fake Abraham Sapien after the CGI is done.
The aliens in District 9 looked more photo-realistic for $30 million dollars than these, which I believe cost significantly more.
Yes they did Grundy, I believe Avatar had a 200 M budget. Look I personally liked the trailer besides the fake as crap CGI in most of the shots. I’m like…What the flip?
Hmm….not digging it. Hoping Battle Angel will be good at least…
To be fair, hard surfaces are cheaper and easier to render than soft surfaces like skin, which is why D9 was so cheap. Peter Jackson said in an interview that they consciously made the Prawns hard-shelled aliens to keep the budget low.
Ill be busting fireworks dancing and drinking beer every August 21st from now on thanks to this godlike trailer! xD
