Are We Going To Get YOUNG THOR?

Recent rumours have suggested that Kevin McKidd is in the running for the role of Thor in the latest Marvel comics adaption, but it transpires that things might not be as cut and dried as that. You see, it was news to McKidd that he was getting the role so he asked his agent to find out. And when his agent got back to him…..well, let’s just say it’s a little worrying:

“I didn’t know about it either until I heard the rumors and I called my agent, and he went, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, we’ve been talking to them about it.’ But the last I heard from my agent, they’re talking that they want to go for somebody much younger, a 19- or 20-year-old, for that role. So they’re reconceptualizing it as we speak.”

Oh God’s no. A teen Thor? That’s not what we need. We need a larger than life Norse God bestowing thunder and lightening on the bad guys not some emo kid trying to come to terms with his new powers while coming to terms with his place in the world!

I mean, what are we going to get? Thor storming out of Valhalla after an argument with his dad Odin, complaining that no one understands him or saying “It’s not fair” as he gets told to tidy his room? Please no.

I so so seriously hope that this turns out to be one of those unfounded rumours!
