3rd ASPEYA #2: Gazz’s BEST AND WORST of 2009!

So here we go with what I consider to be the “Best” and “Worst”  of 2009 at the movies. Kristina will be here tomorrow with her picks, and you’ve already seen what you readers have voted for in the same categories so here’s my two-pennies-worth!

I should explain that both mine and Kristina’s selections may NOT necessarily be reflective of our eventual Top 25 list. There may be some clues as to where we’re heading by what we include here but just because a film places highly in say a ‘Best Scene’ category  here, it doesn’t necessarily mean it is going to place highly or at all on the eventual lists we publish in a few days time!

Heheheeeee I greatly approve of Up taking a bunch of your top slots.

    I knew I skipped G.I. Joe for a reason!

You wouldn’t believe me when I tell you just how many opportunities GI JOE got from me. I watched it the first time and thought it was a joke I wasn’t privvy too. I then thought that it was best watched drunk, so I tried again. Same reaction. Then I tried whilst watching it with my back to the TV and that’s when I realised that, no, it’s just shit!

Hard to imagine a film called “Lesbian Vampire Killers” wouldn’t have anything worth recommending.

    Gi Joe was terrible though.

    Nice list!

Now you see, I kinda liked Halloween II. It’s pretty much the only good/interesting sequel in the series that doesn’t involve a shirtless Tom Atkins. I do agree that Zombie’s writing still isn’t up to snuff, but I do think he has grown as a director though. He’s got a good visual style going, and I gotta say I think Brad Douriff gave a damn, and I mean damn good performance in it.

Oh, and Peter Capaldi was awesome in In the Loop. ****ity-bye.

    Great list =]

    Two things,

Dance Flick isnt in this list for worst movie/scene/actors? and,

500 Days Of Summer was fantastic! I think it should at least have 3 appearances here. I mean none would be #1 but since you guys have a 5 candidates system im sure it should be up there a lot

Oh and, if you watch “The Road” this list will change COMPLETELY.

Also, The Hurt Locker… but The Road was also great.
