Man, I haven’t seen any of your worst films…for good reason. Pirates 3 was an abomination, and I’m still so proud for not paying to watch that thing. Elizabeth’s speech was beyond retarded. Who the hell would get fired up to run into battle because some mouthy pixie stick spouted off some shit that sounded MUCH better coming out of Barbossa’s mouth. I friggin’ DETEST the Pirates sequels. Spiderman 3 was ass, too, especially that whole Emo Peter thing. People in my theater were looking at each other like, “Are they SERIOUS?!”
Hmm. Some questionable worsts there (Black Snake Moan? That was good!)but who am I to argue with the superfan?
Interesting list, Gazz.
I agree with a lot of your choices (haven’t seen Gone Baby Gone yet, looks good).
I was quite surprised by your contempt for Black Snake Moan however. It was fairly well liked but you thoroughly hate it, that makes me interested to watch it for myself, to see if it is such a mess? It’s one I’ve been circling for a little while anyway.
I liked American Gangster’s style but it didn’t feel as immediate as I thought it would be, a little lacking in places? Maybe Eastern Promises was similar, although I felt that the fight sequence in the Turkish baths elevated that somewhat.
Interesting list again. Here’s to 2008, it’s looking good!
