Akiva Goldsmith is more to blame for I Am Legend, I remember reading one Protosevich drafts which was more faithful and frankly better.
Akiva also “improved” I, Robot. Ugh.
That this guy still manages to get work after BATMAN & ROBIN alone amazes the living shit out of me!
Prosetovich’s script wasn’t that great in terms of story or faithfulness to the source. The giveaway is in the fact that it cites itself as being based on ‘The Omega Man’. I think it was just, generally speaking, another Hollywood compromise.
Your worst film list is spot on — I couldn’t imagine sitting through those movies! My eyes would pop.
As for Juno, yeah, it does look like it went through a lot of cutsey, trendy focus groups. Year of the Dog was a much better, honest film and Lars and the Real Girl for that matter. Ah well.
Good list. Quality stuff.
