SPACED Finally Gets A USA Release Date
If you don’t know, Spaced is the brilliant TV series from Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and Jessica Hynes (or Jessica Stevenson as she was known at the time) which aired in 1999 on UK TV. It is responsible for a number of things, including the eventual production of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and it is without a doubt one of the best, and funniest, comedies out there. And if you are a fan of movies, video games, comics or any other form of popular culture, you can not fail to be entertained by it. Trust me, I watched both series not that long ago and they’re just as funny now as they were when they first aired.
Anyway, the point of all this is that BBC America have finally set a date of July 22nd for the three disc Spaced: Collectors Edition DVD, which not only has both series (that’s all fourteen episodes) as well as over 8 hours of extras - and if you’ve seen the DVD releases for Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz rest assured that the Spaced DVD extras are just as fantastic! In fact, I’m a little jealous as, according to SciFi Wire, there are going to be all-new commentaries from Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, Matt Stone, Bill Hader, Patton Oswalt and Diablo Cody included on the release!
The release is set for a RRP of $49.99 so make sure you have the money available to purchase it when it’s released!

I already have the R2 Collector’s Edition, but this is something that I’ll have no trouble double dipping.
Grundy, my friend, I would expect nothing less!
And to be honest with you, if there are more new extras than just the commentaries then I’ll probably end up double dipping myself by importing the R1!
I own this on Region 2 and would more than consider importing the Region 1 version but they’re going to have to push the exclusive extras up way more than just “guest commentaries”.
How about having the pilot of the SPACED US remake on with a Mystery Science Theatre style audio commentary from Simon Pegg and Jessica Stephenson laying into it?
**** you McG.
