MYSTERIOUS CITIES OF GOLD Finally Comes To DVD!

There are some cartoon shows from the 80′s that just seem to sit in peoples memories and refuse to go. Ulysses 31. Dungeons And Dragons. Battle of the Planets. Mysterious Cities of Gold. All of which are available to buy on DVD. Apart from Mysterious Cities of Gold, of course.

Until now that is!! Yes, the rights issues have finally been sorted out and in February 2008 the UK will get the first of 3 DVD releases containing the entire series, with each double disc release containing 13 episodes. If you never saw or don’t remember the show then you probably don’t understand the significance of this – but let me put it like this. Monster Squad finally getting the DVD release it deserves is equal to this news in my mind. That’s how God-damned excited I am! And it also means I won’t have to come up with something for my wife’s birthday next year! :D

Mysterious Cities of Gold is set in 1532 and tells the story of a Spanish orphan called Esteban who joins a group of Spaniards in their search for one of the seven Cities of Gold. He is joined by an Incan girl called Zia and Tao, the last descendant of the sunken empire of Mu. And it was fantastic! February cannot come soon enough for me now.
