Gatchaman & AstroBoy Posters Revealed

Posters For GATCHAMAN & ASTRO BOY Online

Two new posters, one for Gatchaman, which is being directed by TMNT’s Kevin Munroe, and Astro Boy have appeared online. And they are both gorgeous!

Gatchaman (or Battle of the Planets as it was known here in the UK) tells the story of five teenagers who’s unique genetic code makes them Earth’s only hope against alien menaces is Kevin Munroe’s second CG movie for Imagi Studios after TMNT, and is meant to have the most ambitious action sequences ever committed to CG animation. I loved the original show when I was growing up and this poster…..I’m at a loss for words as to how cool this poster looks! Check it out:

Isn’t that just great? I am really interested in this project now!

And then we have the poster for Astro Boy, which tells the story of a robot created in the image of his lost son by a brilliant scientist and follows Astro Boy as he journeys to discover his humanity and save Metro City from destruction (why am I thinking of A.I: Artificial Intelligence but with fighting?) and is being directed by Colin Brady, who was responsible for visual effects on Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events, Hulk and E.T. This poster isn’t as exciting in my mind as Gatchaman’s but it is very attractive and striking nonetheless.

Both movies are scheduled to be released sometime in 2009.
