I don’t know about you guys, but I absolutely LOVED the first Hellboy movie. Yeah, the Myers character was a bit annoying, but come on, how badass was Perlman as Big Red? Hellboy 2: The Golden Army is one of my most anticipated flicks of the upcoming year, and the website is now live, with a nice welcome note from Guillermo Del Toro, even nicer artwork, and a few pictures and video blogs here and there. Nothing mindblowing, but for you Hellboy fans out there, here’s your first taste of what I hope is going to be one of the best movies of ‘08.

I”m looking forward to this. The only thing I did not like about the first movie was the HORRIBLE cgi Hellboy baby. For all of the great effects in that movie, they couldn’t throw a few extra pennies in to that scene?
Well, to be fair, that baby was only in that one scene. For a big comic book movie, the movie’s budget was pretty tight. They had to spend their big bucks on the stuff that took up the most screen time, so I can forgive the CGI baby. I’m so excited to see Ron Perlman back as Hellboy. I’ve never read the comics, so I was unsure of what to expect the first time that I watched the movie, and he totally blew me away with his sense of humor. God, that scene on the roof with the kid…throwing the rock at Myeres…I HOWLED in the theater. And yeah, I’m a girl, so the HB/Liz stuff got to me, especially that scene in the Professor’s library. Man, it was great. Deserved to make more money than it did. I really hope that this one is a hit so that I can get a Hellboy trilogy.
Hey Guys, just to let you know that I’m still around but knee deep (still!) in a bit of a personal crisis at the moment. OFF THE SHELF # 33 has been delayed for that very reason but I’m going to work on that and a whole host of reviews and then get them up on the site the next time I have proper, lengthy, internet access! Hope you’re all well. Loving the site! Speak soon!
